It tells of the filmmaker Silvino Santos' trip to Portugal in 1927, five years after he made "No Paiz das Amazonas". He also inserts footage in the state of Amazonas, such as children playing on the Madeira River, duck hunters, duck preparation for dinner, and scenes of Parintintins Indians.
